2026 Municipal Election
Notice to Residents – Voter Registration for the 2026 Municipal Election – ELECTIONS ONTARIO
Residents are encouraged to confirm that their information is up to date on the voters’ list in preparation for the upcoming 2026 Municipal Election.
You can easily check and update your voter registration details by visiting Elections Ontario through their Voter Registration service. This ensures that you are properly registered and helps facilitate a smooth voting process on election day.
The 2026 Municipal Election will see a change in the development of the voters list. Elections Ontario is taking over the responsibility for maintaining the voters list from MPAC. You can check to see if you’re on the list, add yourself to the list and update your address if you’ve recently moved.
Electors / Voters
A person is entitled to be an elector at an election held in a local municipality if, on voting day, he or she:
- resides in the local municipality or is the owner or tenant of land there, or the spouse of such owner or tenant;
- is a Canadian citizen;
- is at least 18 years old; and
- is not prohibited from voting.
This is in accordance with Section 17 of the Municipal Elections Act.
Taking a few minutes now to verify your information will help avoid delays and ensure you are eligible to vote in the 2026 Municipal Election.

A person is entitled to be an elector at an Election held in a local municipality if on Voting Day, Monday, October 24th, 2022, he or she:
- Resides in the local municipality or is the owner or tenant of land there, or the spouse of such owner or tenant;
- Is a Canadian Citizen;
- Is at least 18 years old; and
- Is not disqualified under this or any other Act.
