The MNRF AFFES will be conducting hazard reduction prescribe burning in the community of Mishkeegogamang over the next several days beginning May 9th, 2023.
The purpose of this burning is to remove accumulated dry fine forest fuels and to reduce the potential impact of an uncontrolled wildfire in the community of Mishkeegogamang.
Throughout the burning process numerous AFFES staff will be on site.
In order to ensure public safety and to allow the AFFES staff to complete the ignition and suppression operations, the public is asked to avoid the area.
