During the Wildland Fire Season, open-air fires are not permitted during the day.
Fires are permitted two hours prior to sunset & must be completely extinguished two hours after sunrise.
If a Restricted Fire Zone (RFZ) is in place, no burning is permitted day or night.
Fire Extinguishing Costs
If the Pickle Lake Fire Department is called to respond to a fire either set or permitted to burn in violation of the burning regulations set out in O. Reg. 207/96: Outdoor Fires, the person and/or the property owner who set the fire or allowed it to burn may be liable to pay all costs incurred by the Pickle Lake Fire Department to extinguish the fire. Costs included are those for all personnel, equipment, and apparatus dispatched for use to extinguish the fire.
